Shoes for wide feet and bone spurs?

My mom has wide feet and bone spurs on her right foot (a swelling and calcification of the knuckle of the big toe). She works in a professional office on a college campus that is very hilly. She does not have to be dressed in business attire most of the time-- usually she dresses business casual. As her daughter, I have wide feet as well. I love Keen footwear but she has not had the same luck. Pretty much everything hurts her bone spur. Any suggestions?
