Bluetooth 3.0 depends on motherboard support?

I have windows 7 64 bit, amd athlon II X4 620, asus m4a785d-v evo motherboard. I want to use bluetooth for data transfer from mobile phone. Bluetooth 2.0 dongle which works well on win xp x32, doesn't work on my computer. Some drivers don't get installed. Please help. Thanks
