Is this rule of thumb (see below) generally okay for grammar?

I noticed that, most of the time, when an object ends in an "uz" sound, it's plural is "i". For instance, if there could be more than one Cerberus, they'd be Cerberi. I was wondering if this rule applies when making all words ending in "us" or "uz" into plurals?
